This is a variety of Tree Collard seeds collected in Summer of 2021 from all of the tree collard varieties growing at the Berkeley farm. They collectively germinated at around 85%. They come in packages of approximately 30 seeds (usually more). They can be shipped in both the US and internationally. See below for more international shipping information.
Tree Collards are a perennial brassica plant hardy to around 25°. Based customer feedback, some of the seedling grown plants have been tolerant of even colder temperatures than some of the cloned varieties we offer.
Like other collard greens, tree collards are very nutritious. They are high in Vitamins B1, B2, B9, C, and beta-Carotene and are a great source of fiber.
These seeds will not be true to type due to cross-pollination with other brassicas on the farm. If you want to grow tree collards identical to the ones we sell, please purchase cuttings or rooted plants. (they are not always in stock since we don’t propagate or take cuttings while they are flowering). The seed will likely produce vigorous, leafy brassica plants that may be of interest to plant breeding enthusiasts. They will most likely produce some interesting crosses.
